What type of AOCS membership is right for me?

Active (individual)
Professionals with an interest in the science and technology of fats, oils, and related substances are eligible for Active membership. Active memberships are non-transferable and for a calendar year. Currently unemployed? We will waive the dues, for one (1) year, for individuals seeking full-time employment. Contact AOCS to request this opportunity.

Retired
If you are a current member who is 62 years of age or older and works fewer than 150 days per year, contact AOCS to request Retired membership.

Student
A Full-time student (undergraduate or graduate) who works no more than 50% time, excluding academic assistantships and/or fellowships. Verification of these conditions may be requested. Student membership is non-transferable and for a calendar year. Join or renew!

Emeritus
A current member who (1) meets the qualification of Retired AOCS membership and has completed 35 years of membership in the Society, or (2) is a past President, AOCS Award of Merit winner, or A.R. Baldwin Distinguished Service Award winner is eligible. Emeritus AOCS membership is granted with the approval of two-thirds of the Governing Board. Contact AOCS for more information.
